About Us
Meet Your Hosts
We are Peta and Kim, and Blairgowrie Coastal Haven is our family home.
A few years ago, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, and living with chronic pain changed a lot about how we live day to day. Kim has become my full-time carer, and together we made the decision to share our home with guests. We move between here and a friend's studio nearby, and when you are staying, this house is yours.
It is why the moment you walk through the door, it feels like home — because it genuinely is one. We put real thought into how each bedroom is set up, tailoring the space to whoever's staying. Before your visit, we take the time to find out who's coming so we can dress the beds and prepare the rooms just right for you.
If you need anything at all during your stay, we are only a text away.
Warm regards, Peta & Kim

GreenPan cookware — We have chosen GreenPan cookware as it is PFAS free and safer for all of us. Please use wooden or silicone utensils only. No knives or sharp metal utensils in the pans — they damage the non-stick coating.
Under sink (two doors): Cloths & biodegradable cleaning products · Fire extinguisher · Skipper dishwasher tablets
Next to sink: Dishwasher
Next 3 drawers: Pâté/dip dishes, cheese knives, egg cups & extra cutlery → Robert Gordon dinner set, kids' plates & bowls → pink/blue/green bowls, side plates & dinner plates
Next 3 drawers: Main cutlery drawer → cooking utensils → wok & colander
Pull-out drawers next to the sink (left of sink, opposite fridge side). Front = general rubbish, back = recycling (loose, not bagged). If you use a bag for the recycling, please ensure to empty all contents into the recycling bin and place the bag in the general garbage bin. Extra bin bags and dustpan & brush on the shelf above.
Wine & champagne glasses closest to the fridge (right side). Two cupboards above the stove hold cookbooks. Near the range hood: extra salad bowls & a jug, vases & glass bottles, and the "oil cupboard" with cooking oils and pink Himalayan salt.
Utilities
Laundry & Butler's Pantry
The laundry and pantry share one room — the butler's pantry — accessed through the barn door off the kitchen.
Above washer/dryer: Floating shelf with spare toilet paper. Bench has laundry sheets & detergent
The vacuum is inside the tall cupboard opposite the washing machine — please return after use. Mop & bucket are next to the tall cupboards, near the back door.
Air fryer and toasted sandwich maker are also in here — help yourself!
Essentials
Linen Press
Located in the hallway in front of the main bathroom.
Extra blankets & towels: Spare blankets and towels for your stay
Picnic hamper: Grab it and head to the beach or a winery
Outdoor movie blankets: Two red blankets are in the bedroom 4 wardrobe — perfect for snuggling up in front of the big screen.
Utilities
Rubbish & Recycling
The outside bins are at the front of the property. Before checkout, please take any rubbish from the kitchen bins and place it in the outside bins.
Bin night is Sunday night. Please put the bins out on the street if your stay includes a Sunday.
Comfort
Heating & Cooling
Reverse Cycle Air Con
Midea Venus split system in the main living area — heats and cools. Remote sits on the wall bracket near the unit. Spare batteries in the far left kitchen drawer.
Bedroom Panel Heaters
Power switch on the side/end (indicator light shows it is on). Dial sets temperature — clockwise for warmer.
Safety: Never cover heaters with clothing, towels or bedding. Keep clear of curtains and soft furnishings. Turn off when leaving the room.
Pergola Heaters
Mounted high on the pergola — lovely for outdoor evenings. Please turn off at the end of the night as they cost a lot to run.
Ceiling Fans
Located in the living/dining area, master bedroom, bedroom 2 and bedroom 3. Bedroom 4 has a portable fan. Keep hands, hair and objects clear.
Leaving the house? Please turn all heating, air conditioning and fans off when you head out.
Cosy Nights
The Fireplace
Your fire is already set up and ready to light on arrival. One bag of firewood and kindling is supplied per stay — extra can be purchased locally.
Kindling: Wooden box next to the fireplace
Firewood: Stored underneath the concrete hearth
Fire lighters & lighter: On the mantlepiece
Safety
🔥
Use only supplied firewood — never burn rubbish, paper or treated wood
👀
Never leave the fire unattended
🛡
Keep the fireplace screen closed while burning
⚠️
Do not overload the fireplace. Keep children and pets at a safe distance
🧹
Let ashes cool completely before touching. Leave the fire grate up at all times
🌙
Make sure the fire is fully out before bed or leaving the house
Entertainment
TVs & Entertainment
Living Room
Samsung 75" Neo QLED Smart TV with a physical remote. Press the power button to turn on, use the Home button for apps (Netflix, Stan etc.), please login to your own accounts if purchasing a movie or game and do not forget to log out before you leave! Navigate with the directional pad, and adjust volume with the side buttons.
Bedrooms 1, 3 and 4 do not have TVs.
Board Games & Cards
Check the white cabinet under Maggie's photo in the living area — Monopoly, Cluedo, Herd Mentality, Brain Fart, Rummy-O, Tension and more. Bedroom 3 wardrobe has Jenga, an escape-room card game, and a 1500-piece puzzle. There are other games in bedroom wardrobes.
After Dark
Outdoor Cinema
Set up your own cinema under the stars! The projector and remote are inside — you will take them outside and bring them back in after use.
1. Plug the extension cord into the powerpoint on the back of the left-hand pole
2. Turn on the projector and wait for it to boot
3. Pull the screen down and secure with a brick (wind can catch it)
4. Turn on the Apple TV or select HDMI input
5. Use the remote to open your streaming apps
6. Bring everything back inside after use — dew and rain will damage them
Screen Mirroring
To mirror your iPhone or iPad: make sure you are on the same Wi-Fi, swipe to open Control Centre, tap Screen Mirroring, and select the Apple TV.
Furry Friends
Pet Information
We are pet lovers here — our miniature dachshund Maggie is part of the family.
Back beaches: Dogs are not permitted on back beaches at any time — these are national park land and heavy fines apply. Stick to the front/bay-side beaches.
Front beaches (Portsea to Dromana) are all safe swimming spots — perfect for families.
Back beaches: Severe tides can occur even when the water looks calm. Children must be supervised at all times. Swim between the flags only — if there are no flags, do not swim. Walking along the back beach coastline is fine.

Walks & Nature
Some of our favourite spots, ordered closest to the house first.
St Pauls Road Lookout
Short walk to panoramic bay views — our closest walk
Guided hikes for all ages run by a lovely local. Kids Glow Hikes are a must — evening walks with glow sticks and glow lights, finishing with hot chocolates
Almost everything in the house — homewares, furniture, rugs — can be sourced through Peta directly. The bedding is mainly French flax linen with a touch of velvet in winter.
Some pieces may be one-off, but Peta can always help find something similar.
